The Story of Root & Bud | Marketing Support for Small Businesses
An Unexpected Beginning
Root & Bud (formerly Eiler Services, LLC) sprouted in an unexpected season.
The business didn’t begin with a grand plan, but with a desire to help others pursue their dreams—all while I was navigating uncertainty, fear, and change.
I was discovering for myself what it’s like to build something new amid doubt, and to need a sounding board you can trust. And that’s where Root & Bud found its roots.
Lessons from Early Career
Before Root & Bud, I spent the early part of my career in tech consulting on small-business marketing teams—the kind of places where no two days looked the same, something I loved.
That season taught me how to think strategically, test ideas, and pay attention to what truly works—lessons I now bring into marketing strategy for small businesses. Most importantly, I saw that you don’t need to do everything.
“You just need to do the right things—the ones aligned with your vision, rooted in your values, and sustainable for the long haul.”
Slowing Down to Listen
When ongoing health challenges required monthly chemotherapy and intense physical therapy, I could no longer keep the pace I once knew. At first, I thought I just needed to push harder. But in that season, I discovered something deeper:
“Success doesn’t come from hustle. It comes from listening, from choosing what’s essential, and from embracing rest and renewal in their rightful seasons.”
Finding My People
Stepping away from the corporate world terrified me; I didn’t know what was next. But when I joined a writing community, something clicked.
I found my people—creative entrepreneurs and purpose-driven business owners who needed trusted support for their message and work.
When someone asked for help with a book launch, I replied:
“I’ve never done this before, but I think I can. Will you take a chance on me?”
They said yes. And I loved every minute of it.
Opportunities kept coming—often ones that felt designed for me. Before long, clients reached out for ongoing support. One even said
“You know you’re running a business, right?”
That same week, a walk with my pastor who had just formed her own spiritual direction practice gave me the final confirmation: it was time to put the pieces in place.
Root & Bud Officially Forms
On January 1, 2021, I officially formed the business.
Since then, Root & Bud has been carried by a steady rhythm of provision and peace, offering values-driven marketing support from the very beginning. From day one, I’ve known this business is in God’s hands. He’s opened doors, met me in my doubts, increased my capacity when I had more to give, and gently scaled things back when I needed rest. His timing has always been right—even when I didn’t understand it in the moment.
“From day one, I’ve known this business is in God’s hands.
I’ve worked quietly for years—thanks to ongoing client referrals that helped keep the business growing—often wrestling with imposter syndrome while building confidence along the way.
Through it all, I’ve come to deeply love this work. I’m grateful for what Root & Bud has become, for the flexibility it’s given my family, and for every person who’s trusted me to walk alongside and partner with them.

I have dreams for what’s next, but I’m also content right here—showing up, serving wholeheartedly, and trusting the One who planted these seeds in the first place.
Thanks for being here and reading the origin story of Root & Bud.
